A Scientific Twinning Agreement Signed Between the Department of Mathematics at the University of Baghdad and the Iraqi University of Science
In a move aimed at strengthening academic and scientific cooperation between Iraqi educational institutions, a scientific twinning agreement was signed between the Department of Mathematics at the College of Education for Pure Sciences (Ibn Al-Haytham) at the University of Baghdad and the Department of Mathematics at the College of Education at the Iraqi University of Science. The signing ceremony was attended by a number of officials and academics from both sides.
The agreement aims to broaden the horizons of joint cooperation in academic and research fields, exchange scientific and knowledge-based expertise, and develop educational programs and raise the level of academic performance to keep pace with modern scientific and technological advancements.
Both sides affirmed that the agreement represents an important step towards building an effective scientific partnership that contributes to enhancing joint scientific research, developing modern teaching methods, and utilizing artificial intelligence applications in the educational process. It also aims to create opportunities for faculty and students to participate in joint scientific and research activities.
Attendees emphasized the importance of mathematics as one of the fundamental pillars of modern science, which necessitates unifying efforts among reputable academic institutions to develop curricula and teaching methods, and to prepare scientific and educational personnel capable of meeting the demands of the future. The agreement was signed by Professor Dr. Firas Abdul Latif, Dean of the College of Education for Pure Sciences Ibn Al-Haytham, and Professor Dr. Rafid Bahr Ahmed Al-Mayouf, Dean of the College of Education at the Iraqi University of Science, in the presence of several heads of academic departments at the College of Education for Pure Sciences Ibn Al-Haytham.
At the conclusion of the signing ceremony, both parties expressed their hope that this twinning agreement would contribute to the implementation of joint scientific and research projects, and the organization of diverse academic events that would enhance the quality of higher education and support the advancement of science in Iraq.
